Juice Blocks

Reduce waste by creating something new from something old. The more juice you drink the healthier you become and the more juice boxes you save from being buried in landfills the healthier our earth will become.

Materials

Cleaned and dried used juice boxes
Newspapers
Several containers of powder tempera paint
Water
Spoon
1 cup of dry wheat paste
Paintbrushes
Rags

1. Start by cleaning your juice boxes thoroughly and allowing them to dry.
2. Spread out your newspapers to protect your work surface
3. With your spoon add some water to your paints so that are ready for painting.
4. Mix in one spoonful of wheat paste so the paint becomes thick and will stick to the waxy boxes.
5. Using your paint brush, decorate your boxes anyway you would like. You can create blocks with numbers or an alphabet or maybe draw and animal or two.
6. Keep a rag handy for clean up.
7. Let your juice blocks dry well overnight.
8. Build a skyscraper, learn the alphabet or trade them with friends. Your juice blocks are light enough to carry anywhere, you can always add more and most importantly they are your very own creation!
